Every Project Is Progress
Between fiscal years 2016 and 2025, the IRLNEP has completed 248 projects totaling $24,899,815. Each project is unique and focuses on an important aspect of the lagoon:
- Restoration of habitats and water quality
- Infrastructure improvement
- Science and research
- Community engagement
- Technology and innovation

Partners at Work
Beyond IRLNEP project funding, many groups are working on projects to protect and improve IRL water quality and habitats:
- The federal government
- The State of Florida
- Each IRL county bordering the lagoon
- Many cities and towns
In 2024 alone, our partners have undertaken and completed 270 projects, and from 2020 to 2024, the projects total is 1,140. Partner projects help accomplish multiple goals:
- Improve water quality and habitats.
- Prevent or cleanse stormwater runoff.
- Upgrade and replace aging infrastructure.
- Educate residents and visitors alike about the lagoon and how they can help protect it.
